Triaminic Thin Strips^® Long Acting Cough

Active Ingredients (in each strip)

• Dextromethorphan 5.5 mg (equivalent to 7.5 mg Dextromethorphan HBr)
  Purpose: Cough suppressant

Uses

• temporarily relieves cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation as may occur with a cold

 

Warnings
Do not use

• in a child under 4 years of age
• in a child who is taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you do not know if the child's prescription drug contains an MAOI, ask a doctor or pharmacist before giving this product.

Ask a doctor before use if the child has

• cough that occurs with too much phlegm (mucus)
• cough that lasts or is chromic such as occurs with asthma.

Stop use and ask a doctor if

• cough lasts for more than 7 days, comes back or is accompanied by a fever, rash or persistent headache. These could be signs of a serious condition.

Keep out of reach of children. In case of overdose, get medical help or contact a Poison Control Center right away.

Directions

May be given every 6 to 8 hours. Do not give more than 4 doses in 24 hours unless directed by a doctor.

• Children under 4 years of age: do not use.
• Children 4 to under 6 years of age: allow 1 strip to dissolve on tongue
• Children 6 to under 12 years of age: allow 2 strips to dissolve on tongue
